Unpublished Collections
Library & Archives NT's unpublished collections are a rich and diverse source of stories and knowledge about the Northern Territory.
Unpublished Collections
Unpublished Collections include the Personal and Community Archives of individuals and organisations with significant relevance to the history, culture and society of the Northern Territory and a growing selection of oral histories of significant Territorians.
Library & Archives NT will continue to develop its Unpublished Collections through the active acquisition of collections from individuals and organisations.
Personal and Community Archives
Personal and Community Archives refer to personal papers (photographs, letters, diaries, literary drafts, etc.) or organisational archives (meeting minutes, plans, correspondence, etc.) accumulated in the course of the life, work and activities of the individual or organisation. Such collections might contain a variety of formats including handwritten texts, audio-visual material, digital texts, objects (realia), and the like.
Oral Histories
Oral histories record the human memories of people, places, events and ideas not preserved in documentary form and often fill a gap in our knowledge of the Territory and Territorians’ lived experience.
