Become a Member

For Northern Territory residents aged 16 and over. Members can:

• Borrow up to 5 items
• Reserve physical and non-lending items for onsite use
• Access eResources
• Book facilities such as the Research Room, microfilm reader, sound booth and listening pods

Photo ID and proof of NT residency are required.
 

For children under 16 whose parent or guardian is an NT resident. Children can:

• Borrow up to 5 items
• Access physical and digital collections suitable for their age

A parent or guardian must provide ID, accept responsibility for use of materials, and sign the child’s card.
 

For visitors to the NT who may not have proof of local address. Visitor members can:

• Borrow up to 2 items
• Reserve items for onsite use
• Access reading rooms and equipment

A wide range of alternative ID options are accepted.
 

A temporary option for people without standard proof of address. Lite members can:

• Borrow 1 item
• Reserve items for onsite use
• Access reading rooms and equipment

Members can upgrade to full Adult or Child membership later by providing standard ID and residency documents.
 

For NT residents who want to use LANT’s digital resources from home. Online members can:

• Access eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines and databases
• Use BorrowBox via personal devices

This membership does not allow borrowing of physical items.

Adults can apply online; children can join if a parent or guardian attends LANT in person to complete the setup.
