Description

Hosted by Northern Institute and Library & Archives NT, the event celebrates the Northern Territory's distinctive place in Australia's liberal democratic tradition while bringing national political research to a local audience.

  • The Australian Liberal Party Volume 1: Ideas, History and Organisation
  • The Australian Liberal Party Volume 2: Policy Challenges and the Global Context

The launch will include presentations by two of the editors, Associate Professor Matteo Bonotti and Associate Professor Zareh Ghazarian, introducing both volumes, with CDU contributor Associate Professor Steven Farram speaking on his chapter examining the Country Liberal Party of the Northern Territory.

There will also be a panel session with the editors, opening up to audience questions on the future of major parties, the role of research in public understanding, and how parties are adapting to a fast-changing political landscape.

Whether you're an academic, political practitioner, journalist, student or simply curious about how parties shape our democracy, there's something here for you — this is a non-partisan event focused on scholarship and ideas, not politics as usual.
