People walking and viewing A Territory Story exhibition

Embark on a journey spanning hundreds of generations and encompassing the beauty, breadth and diversity of Territory history and culture. Meander among the people, places and events that have shaped us. Learn why life-long Territorians say A Territory Story is like coming home.

Acknowledging the Library’s place on Larrakia land, A Territory Story explores the culture and development of the Territory through ten intriguing themes. Reflect under the Tree of Knowledge, jump on a Bond’s Tour Bus like the intrepid travellers of the past, or hear straight from the Stolen Generations. Examine our unique shelters and housing or reflect on Darwin, the Arafura pearl.

Only in A Territory Story can you visit the rough and sometimes tender world of the Territory and connect with our lands through interactive tracks and mapping. Come explore our films and songs and discover some fascinating individuals who made their mark on the NT.

A Territory Story exhibition is free and open during Library opening hours.

Keen to hear from the curators behind the exhibition? Stay tuned to our website and social media pages about upcoming floor talks.
