Workshop | Writing for the Young Territory Author Awards

Do you know a young person with a story to tell? 

Help them build their confidence and creativity before entering the 2026 Young Territory Author Awards with this special after-school workshop.

Join Library & Archives NT and Territory author, Di Lucas, for a creative workshop designed for young writers and illustrators aged 9–15 years. Whether they're working on a story, poem or picture book, this hands-on session will help them develop their ideas and prepare a standout submission before entries for the 2026 Young Territory Author Awards close on 27 August.

Participants will explore topics including:

• Writing and storytelling techniques
• Editing and polishing their work
• Illustrating a story or poem
• Generating creative ideas
• Presenting a submission
• Designing an eye-catching cover
