Conversations with Clare is an event series presented over four evenings in March at the NT Library. Clare Martin will be joined each week by guests notable for their work in the Territory in journalism, politics, cultural development and visual arts. Guests will provide their unique perspective on the defining events from the Territory’s last 50 years.
In the third event of the series Clare will speak with Senior Larrakia Elders Bill Risk and Lorraine Williams about their role as cultural leaders.
Clare will draw upon key developments that Bill and Lorraine have worked on over the past 50 years that have greatly contributed to keeping Larrakia culture and language strong. This will include the establishment of Larrakia Nation, the Aboriginal Development Corporation, Radio Larrakia and the work of Larrakia Cultural Heritage Management to protect Larrakia archaeological sites in the Darwin region.
Clare Martin is a former Chief Minister, ABC journalist and Broadcaster.
