Description
Join Aboriginal activist, essayist and historian Jackie Huggins AM and her sister Ngaire Jarro for a lunchtime book talk about Jack of Hearts, a moving biography of their father, Jack, and his role as an Aboriginal soldier in World War II. Jackie and Ngaire are joined by the curators of the Tiwi Heroes: World War Two Encounters exhibition – writer and historian Charlie Ward and Muran man Don Christophersen – for an illuminating discussion about the often overlooked contributions of Aboriginal people to Australia’s defence.
This event is generously sponsored by First Nations Australia Writers Network and Magabala Books.
