School programs at Library & Archives NT bring Territory history to life by drawing on our exhibitions that tell a Territory story and more than 300,000 items from our collections. Each school program is linked to learning outcomes in curriculum.

Library & Archives NT has delivered services to Territory schools for many years, introducing young people to Territory history through our programs and events.
Programs Overview
Early Years (preschool – year 2)
We take a trip into the Territory’s past to explore how the environment influences home design, the materials used, and how these have evolved over time.

Primary Years (years 3-6)
Investigate the people, places and events that have been a major influence in shaping Darwin into the unique place it is today.

Create a new spin on old stories by creating an alternate headline and re-writing old news from a new perspective.

Take a critical look at some of the Territory’s historical content. What if that episode in history was written from another perspective; how would it read then?
