NAIDOC Week Seminar | Deadly Research with the Northern Institute

NAIDOC Week Seminar 'Deadly Research'

This coming NAIDOC Week, Northern Institute in collaboration with Library and Archives NT, will highlight four impactful researchers and their projects that centre on Indigenous knowledge, voices, and innovation.

From examining how settler-colonial narratives continue to shape perceptions of northern Australia, to amplifying the experiences of Indigenous women in the NT mining industry, this work challenges systems of exclusion and inequity.

It also showcases how Indigenous Knowledge Systems are transforming education through culturally grounded, Indigenous-led research and leadership. Alongside this, innovative digital projects are using AI and game design to preserve and share Aboriginal knowledge, empowering communities to tell their own stories.

Date: Thursday 9 July 2026

Time: 10am to 1pm

Location: Library & Archives NT, Level 2, Danala, 54 Cavanagh Street, Darwin City
